The Challenge:

VaxTogetherAustin’s mission is to help people find vaccinations in and around the Austin, TX area. Their targeted audience includes individuals who are visually impared, seniors, medically fragile individuals, and anybody who reached out for help in getting a COVID-19 vaccine. 

In July of 2021 we began to support VaxTogetherAustin’s efforts by adding a P2P texting outreach campaign. We texted over 60,000 Austin residents, specifically targeting underserved communities and areas with lower than average statewide vaccination rates, to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.. Recipients who indicated they were already vaccinated were asked to pass along clinic info to friends, family, and workmates in order to increase clinic attendance. 

 The Result:

Vaccination rates in Austin, TX have gone up by nearly 15% since our start date in July. With our help Travis County is now nearly 75% vaccinated.
