Opro by Open Progress is a new progressive digital agency that was formed in the wake of Trump’s election. We are owned by the 501 c(4) non-profit, Open Progress. In 2017 we were active in more than 90 races and ballot initiatives across 17 states ranging from US Senate (AL) to County Coroner (PA). We’re going to have even more impact in 2018, with your help.
We are building out our inaugural team to deploy unique, digital-first campaigns at the federal, state, and local levels. We are seeking a skilled senior digital ad buyer/planner who knows how to use digital tools to reach unique audiences via paid and earned social media and who isn’t afraid of creating new techniques and driving innovation.

Opro by Open Progress is seeking a full-time Senior Digital Ad Buyer/Planner to join our team. This is a remote position, that can be based anywhere in the continental US. Occasional travel (~5x per year is expected). The Senior Digital Ad Buyer/Planner will manage advertising campaigns for some of the firm’s largest clients. This employee will work closely with clients, consultants, and members of all departments in order to learn and provide comprehensive and custom strategies and executions. This position offers the opportunity to not only work directly with clients but also to help build and shape a growing team. This position is full-time and salaried. It includes health care coverage.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Manage election cycle and rapid response campaigns from strategy through execution and optimization, including relevant reporting.
Accurately track and evaluate campaign spend and results over time
Help to create the structure of the advertising team. This is a start-up, which means you will have an incredible opportunity to help us build a progressive workplace
Evolve methodology for paid media plans including media spend projections, media mix (paid social, paid search, display, remarketing), and A/B test strategies
Recognize and implement ongoing optimizations by monitoring response metrics, bid strategies, relative creative performance,and budgets
Participate in client meetings, pitches and presentations
Approve campaign setup and accuracy of campaign assets before launch
Analyze web analytics and statistical reports to track progress and provide insights
Ensure campaigns are meeting/exceeding client KPI goals
Maintain an in-depth understanding of client’s overall strategies and objectives
Act as the subject matter expert in online advertising tactics and platforms: Google AdWords, DoubleClick Campaign Manager, DoubleClick Search, DoubleClick Bid Manager, and Google Analytics experience
Strong interest in technology or digital marketing
Support for progressive values and commitment to building a safe and diverse workplace where people from all walks of life can contribute and advance the movement
Proficient with advertising platforms like Facebook Ads Manager, and Google Adwords
Knowledgeable about advertising strategy in the political/advocacy space
Comfortable with Excel/Google Sheets
Adept at pulling and evaluating data from email and fundraising platforms like ActBlue
Able to plan backwards/anticipate obstacles and juggle multiple tasks without dropping any balls
Commitment to building a safe and diverse workplace where people from all walks of life can contribute and advance the movement
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
The following experience would be beneficial, but not required:
Familiarity with designing, executing, tracking, analyzing, and evolving tests for large advertising campaigns
